From: Betsy Park, conference co-chair
Are you ready? The dates for the Tennessee Library Association Annual Conference are fast approaching! Where will you be March 17-19, 2010? At TLA in Memphis of course!
Plan on attending one of the many interesting pre-conferences, be entertained by General Session Speakers Bill Barnes & Gene Ambaum of Unshelved (http://www.unshelved.com), and met friends at the All Conference Reception at the famed Stax Museum (http://www.staxmuseum.com/). Check the conference at the TLA website to see a preview of the program grid.
The Conference will be at the Hilton Memphis (http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hotel/MEMPHHF-Hilton-Memphis-Tennessee/index.do) Book by February 13th to receive the best rates! Enter TL0315 (that’s a 0 not an o) for the conference rate and free internet. See you there!!

Do you want to help Boone Tree make some money? Come join us for Spirit Night on January 28, 2010 at the Chick-Fil-A on East Stone Drive in Kingsport. We need 2-4 people per hour from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. to clear tables and get refills. You can even wear the cow costume!!!
Even if you cannot be there, please distribute the flyers to everyone you know and encourage them to come to the Chick-Fil-A. When they present the flyer, Boone Tree will get 15% of the proceeds of the sale. (Don’t worry that the flyers say Sullivan County Public Library – Theresa will make sure that the money gets to Boone Tree.)
Please contact Virginia Salmon at vlsalmon@northeaststate.edu or Theresa McMahan at tmcmahan@wrlibrary.org if you can help out. Remember, this event will help out Boone Tree.
Here are the Spirit Night Guidelines

For some who might have not heard of Koha http://koha.org/ I wanted to plug it. It’s a free/opensource Integrated Library System that is totally web-based. It is doing very well and now there are companies who offer paid support for it.
